You might notice that some items in here may be "used/preowned/refurbished" products. What's up with that you might be wondering?
Well, while I won't say no to brand new, I'm a firm believer in recycling. You wouldn't believe the amount of e-waste there is and how much of it could be prevented/reused/correctly recycled.
This section is for those of you that have been curious about the actual costs of keeping things running, typical monthly cost hovers in between the $150-$180 mark
Electricity: $80-100 per month
Hard drives average at approx 400W (Yes, I have THAT many storage drives), server averages 120W (only accounting for emby's CPU & GPU usage alone)
Internet: ~$70 per month
Basically 75% of $90/m as Emby accounts for about 70-80% of total internet usage each month on average (and average data usage is ~10TB/m)
This is primarily based on the cost of the actual electricity usage of the emby server hardware and storage drives use plus the average percentage of monthly internet usage used solely for emby
Hardware failures do occur from time to time (like a hard drive dying or something) which means there's some added costs there but they don't happen too often so I haven't bothered trying to work out that
